About Us

TrubyStevenson Ltd was established in November 2013.

The company was set up by Andy Truby and Mark Stevenson. Andy and Mark were both formerly Partners with Gifford and Partners Consulting Engineers. Mark joined Gifford as a Graduate Engineer in 1979 and worked through the engineering grades eventually becoming Chief Executive. Andy joined Gifford in 1987 and, again after working through the ranks, became Head of Structural Engineering.  

In 2011 Gifford was sold to Ramboll, a multi-national consulting engineer with over 10,000 staff worldwide. Andy and Mark continued in senior positions with Ramboll until 2013 when they decided to establish their own new business and TrubyStevenson Ltd was borne. The business has been trading successfully since then.

Andy Truby - Director

A Chartered Engineer with over 35 years’ experience of structural engineering design. Andy is one of the two founding Directors of TrubyStevenson Ltd. Andy has previously held senior positions as Head of Structural Engineering at both Gifford LLP and Ramboll UK Ltd. Andy has a broad experience of delivery in projects across a range of sectors and procurement routes. He has a particular interest and expertise in the design of concrete structures particularly those adopting post-tensioning and precast construction.  

Andy currently Chairs BSI Committee B/525/2 - Structural use of concrete. The Committee is responsible for the UK input to CEN/TC 250/SC 2 Eurocode 1992 - Design of concrete structures and Eurocodes related documents.

Andy was a member of the drafting committee for the Concrete Society Technical Report 43 – Post Tensioned Concrete Floors (Second Edition). Andy has also been involved in the drafting of Concrete Society Technical Report 47 – Durable Post-tensioned Concrete Structures. Andy is currently a member of the Concrete Society Working Party which is tasked with producing the third edition of Concrete Society Technical Report 43

Andy is currently the Convenor for fib (federation internationale du béton) Commission 1, Task Group 1.3 – Buildings. Andy part-authored and edited a joint publication with the UK Concrete Centre and fib providing a design guide of the Structural Engineering Design of Tall Buildings in Concrete. This was published as both a Concrete Centre Guide and fib Bulletin No 73. Andy is also a Member of fib Commission 1 – Structures.

Mark Stevenson - Consultant

Mark Stevenson is a Chartered Engineer with over 35 years’ experience of civil and structural engineering consultancy. Mark is one of the two founding Directors of TrubyStevenson Ltd. Mark had previously held senior positions in Gifford LLP and more recently Ramboll UK Ltd following the acquisition of Gifford. Having joined Gifford as a graduate Mark became a partner in 1994 and he took the role of CEO from 2006 through to the end of 2010. 

Mark has maintained a close interest in projects across all sectors with expertise in bidding and leading large multi-disciplinary projects across a range of procurement routes using his expertise in strategic thinking and risk and opportunity management to help steer projects to success.
